The side effects of grape seed extract are rare and not considered serious in nature. Some of the reported side effects in studies are headache, nausea and dry scalp. It is also thought that grape seed extract will increase the clotting time of blood which could become an issue if there is an injury of some sort.
Grape seed extract currently has no known drug interactions, though the subject has yet to be fully evaluated. There is much speculation that combining grape seed extract with anticoagulant drugs will increase the strength of those drugs. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to consult with your physician before taking grape seed extract.
